Leaking Roof in Cottage Grove, OR Replaced with Dynasty Shingles
Challenge
The roof on this older home in Cottage Grove, OR was leaking in several places. After doing research on Angie’s List, the homeowners contacted us to set an appointment.
Solution
Our Inspector met with the owners to discuss what they were experiencing and what they were looking for. He took photos of the roof with his phone and used a program that creates measurements. (see photo)
He also got on the roof (our clients tell us other most roofers don’t check out the roof!) to evaluate its condition. The owners told our Inspector they were impressed with the thoroughness of the analysis of their roof.
They chose our company and “The Klaus Roofing Way” over other companies from whom they received bids. Our Project Manager worked with them to choose shingle color, schedule delivery, and other details to help make the experience smooth. The owners told us they were happy with the way we handled all the details.
The roofing crew starts out by preparing the area to remove the existing shingles (see photo). They then removed the shingles to get down to the roof deck. We expected to find rot on the boards, and we did. The rotted boards were replaced before the special underlayment was laid down.
The next layer is the special synthetic protective underlayment. The last three feet also has the “ice & water” barrier installed. These protect against future leaks.
The roof was then re-shingled with high-quality IKO Dynasty shingles. The crew then cleaned up thoroughly. We also have a “No Nail Pledge” where we pledge not to leave any nails behind!
