Roof at End of Its Life Replaced with Klaus Roofing Way Roof in Eugene, OR
Challenge
After finding us online, this homeowner scheduled with us for her free roof evaluation. She knew her roof was reaching the end of its life.
Solution
Our Inspector met with her to explain how we choose to climb up on the roof to measure it and to check the condition. Photos are taken and uploaded to a software program that determines accurate measurements.
Once she chose our company and picked the shingle color, then the work is scheduled. It was a nice day in October for re-roofing a home!
The crew started with removal of all the old shingles. We quickly saw there were two places that water had leaked through the old shingles into the wood underlayment (see PHOTOS). It can be difficult to see the wood’s condition until shingles have been removed. Before more work was done, our crew replaced this wood that was starting to rot from the water leaks.
The next layer is the special synthetic protective underlayment. The last three feet also has the “ice & water” barrier installed. These protect against future leaks.
The roof was then re-shingled with high-quality IKO Dynasty shingles in castle gray (see PHOTO). The crew then cleaned up thoroughly, ensuring no nails are left!
