20-Year Old Roof in Eugene, OR House Gets a Klaus Roofing Systems Makeover
Challenge
This Eugene couple knew their home’s roof was at the end of its life expectancy. They had a few different companies come out to give them a bid, and they found us through the Home Advisor site.
Solution
Before getting on the roof to check out the roof’s condition (see BEFORE photo), our Inspector took photos from 9 different locations. These are then uploaded to a system that determines the square footage and the slopes of the roof. It’s quick and very accurate!
They told us some of the reasons Klaus Roofing Systems of Oregon was chosen over other companies was due to our Inspector’s professionalism and the quality of our presentation regarding our specific Klaus Roofing System.
The roofing crew started by preparing the house for the roof removal work. We ensured personal items near the home were moved so they would not be damaged. Specific plants around their home were covered (see DURING photo) to ensure they were not damaged. The crew then removed the existing shingles.
The underlayment plywood was then checked for rot; it can be difficult to determine the condition until the shingles have been removed.
Over the plywood, our crew put down the synthetic protective underlayment. The last three feet also has a special “ice & water” barrier installed. These are the parts you don’t see that protect against future leaks.
The roof was then re-shingled with high-quality IKO Cambridge shingles. The crew then cleaned up thoroughly, including ensuring there are no random nails left anywhere. (see AFTER photo) The homeowners were glad they chose to put a 50-year warranty against leaks Klaus Roofing Systems roof on their house!
